What happens if I don't pay my debts?

In most cases it is not a crime to skip a payment. This means you probably won't go to jail if you don't pay your bills. If you don't pay on secured loans like cars or houses the lender can foreclose or repossess the item. A lender can also attempt to garnish your wages. Of course depending on the amount of your debt a lender may charge off your debt. This will of course affect your credit score. It is far better to use a debt counseling company, a debt consolidation company or a debt settlement company.
